Dye burned defenders so badly on deep routes, they needed a telescope to see him. He also had the knack for turning quick slants into long scores. Dye rewrote the Pirates' receiving record book.

He was a bookend first-team all area for the Pirates, along with Dye. Jenkins was the Pirates best threat out of the slot.
