Cougar's Top Gun Players​

In 2010, the Cougar's’ offense, coordinated by coach Jordn, averaged 32 points per game, and didn't scored less than 20 points the last 6 weeks. 

2010

Marquis Wells

QB, West Side

 

Wells lead the West Side offense to its first Sectional championship game in school history, Wells pass for 2,944 yards and 32 touchdowns. The  5-foot-11, 145-pound senior was the state's second-ranked quarterback heading into Class 4A Sectional 9 championship game at Morton. 

 

Wells is currently playing Quarterback for the Falcons at West Hills College in Coalinga, CA. 

 

 

2010

Barry McCarter

WR, West Side

In a breakout year for the Cougars, McCarter was one of the Cougar's biggest game changers. Good size and hands helped him get over 1,000 yards.

Stats: 73 receptions for 1,081 yards, 16 TDs.

 

McCarter's athletic and academic success bolted him to the 2010 All-State Football Team. He later received a football scholarship from Indiana State University.

Deante Mahome

RB, West Side

 

Despite being running in a pass first offense, Mahome was still able to run for 851 yards. 

 

Mahome helped the Cougars in the playoffs with rushing for 216 yards and three touchdowns as West Side beat Hammond 41-20 to advance to its first ever sectional title game.
